The Building Awards recognize general contractor and subcontractor firms that have excelled in construction projects throughout the region. Awards are given in nine (9) different categories, to highlight large and small projects in a variety of areas including commercial construction, industrial/institutional construction, historic preservation, and design build.
To apply for one of the BUILDING AWARDS, you’ll need to provide information and/or answer questions such as:
- - Project Overview
- - Project Management & Timeliness
- - Quality of Workmanship
- - Innovation in Construction Techniques or Materials
- - Meeting the Challenges of a Difficult Job
- - Owner Satisfaction
Applicants are also asked to submit high-resolution photos to accompany the written portion of the submission.
The winner of this award will be a unique general contractor and/or subcontractor firm that the GBCA Safety Committee recognizes as holding the highest level of safety standards for their employees and others with whom they work. The recipient organization will have proven to be successful in promoting safety within its company and throughout the industry.
To apply for the SAFETY EXCELLENCE AWARD, you’ll need to provide:

- - The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) company classification
- - Entries from OSHA Form 300
You must also submit a letter explaining why you believe your company should win. It is an opportunity to explain what sets your firm apart from others when it comes to safety. (Please see the application for two dozen examples of safety-program aspects the judges will be evaluating.)
The winner of the Commitment to Diversity Award will be a firm that has been determined to be charting a proactive course in the construction industry for the inclusion of minorities, women, and those with disabilities. This award will highlight this forward-thinking organization and express the CEA’s appreciation of its dedication to diversity.

You must also submit a case study of a specific construction project you feel exemplifies your company’s commitment to diversity. It is an opportunity to explain what sets your company apart from others in regards to a commitment to diversity. (Please see the application for guidelines judges use to evaluate submissions).
